When investigating solid samples, due to the inability to stir the sample, one often faces photodegradation of the sample at the surface. To overcome this, we have developed a translating sample holder that can translate samples in the following pattern:

The sample holder is computer controlled with the controls integrated into the Halcyone^TM and Helios^TM software. The sample holder automatically translates a sample continuously or in steps, depending on the experimental requirements.
